When we moved into our current home 10 years ago, I painted the master bedroom walls Benjamin Moore Tate Olive. I loved the dramatic dark green walls and still do but after 10 years I was ready for a master bedroom mini makeover.
Choosing a paint color can be challenging sometimes. I wanted a light neutral but really didn’t want to introduce another paint color into the house so I went with paint colors that I used in other rooms. These are all Benjamin Moore colors.
- Walls: Powell Buff
- Tray ceiling: Decatur Buff
- Ceiling: Hepplewhite ivory
It was a tedious project as the room has so many windows and the built-ins over the fireplace. To help with the painting chore Purdy provided me with rollers, handles and paint brushes.*
I honestly can say that using good quality brushes and rollers do make a difference. Purdy brushes are 100% nylon and the paint just glides onto the walls. The rollers provide more coverage with less work and the angled brushes are perfect for cutting in the edges.
The picture above shows the quilt on the bed with the duvet folded at the foot of the bed. Whereas the picture below shows the duvet on the bed and quilt at the end of the bed. It’s nice to have the flexibility to mix it up.
Here’s a shot of the whole room.
A fresh coat of paint really does wonders! Will you be tackling a painting project this year?
*I received the products mentioned above for free in hopes that I would mention them on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. This is not a sponsored post.
